Candy
Candy is a lucky one. As a two-year-old she was taken out of a herd being sent for slaughter after the owner had passed away. Now turning 11 this half Belgium, half Morgan loves people and gets into all sorts of mischief. Candy loves opening gates and doors and has found her place as the bossy lady of her all-male herd. She is very intelligent and enjoys jumping and trail riding.
PRINCE
Prince was purchased from a meat auction as a very young foal in August of 2016. At this time, he was found with a severely ulcerated eye that was infected. His eye was so bad, he had a hole right through his cornea. The vets thought his eye was going to have to be removed but after intense treatment, he has gained his sight back and is in great health. Prince is a year and a half now and is a very small mini horse. He is very playful and sweet and also loves cuddles and hugs. Watson (our dog) was his playmate and best friend until Major came along. He was named after the late singer, Prince, because of his funky hairstyle, wild moves and love for the colour purple.
Major
Major is about 5 years old and was purchased from a farm sight unseen as a friend for Prince. He is a beautiful gelding with a chocolate brown coat and flaxen main and tail. His mom is a 13 hh pony and his dad is a mini horse. Major is a big sweetheart and loves hugs, scratches and treats. Although he is small for a horse, Major forgets how big he really is and can be a little smothering when he wants attention. He will follow you around like a puppy.
BANDIT
Bandit is a 15-year-old registered Newfoundland pony. With only 300 left in the world, this cheeky guy thinks he is pretty special. He is a true “pony” in spirit and can be a little stinker some days but is a very good boy to ride. He loves jumping and trail rides but his favorite this to do is eat. Bandit is pretty much always on a diet.
Shadow
Shadow is a big beauty. He is a 25-year-old Percheron, Andalusian, Thoroughbred cross who is the king of his domain. Shadow is in love with Candy and likes to take it easy most of the time. He doesn’t mind going on trail rides but would prefer not to work too hard. He can be a very sweet boy but for being the biggest horse on the farm he is scared of everything…that tree, the pig (Olive) or maybe today that truck. Shadow loves scratches and getting groomed but just don’t put him in a corner (he is claustrophobic).
HECTOR
Hector is a 16 hand-high paint. He was given to the farm after he couldn’t perform athletically and now lives the life a leisure. He loves trail rides, getting groomed and treats but hates all blankets. It is a struggle to get his rain sheet or winter blanket on him. He is a very sweet boy.
